Spiderman:  I don't believe I know the man.

George Clooney: Like, Dude, really?  You guys ate all the pizza?  Serious?  I’ve been sweatin' my ass all day in a six by six cubicle while you freaks sit out on the street corner playing video games and coming up with bright ideas that will turn you into gazillionaires;  and you can’t even save me a slice.

George Clooney, Man on the Street, Episode #1

How much can I get out of the guy in this cartoon?   He’s seeing more action than George Clooney.  In fact, I’m calling him “George Clooney, Man on the Street” and I’ll see how many times I can use him and still remain interested.

I spotted this b/w cut-out stuffed in an old box of crap I keep around and never do anything with.  I scanned it into my computer then started drawing on top of it while teaching myself Corel Draw.  At first I was going to cover up George Clooney and only use the background but the scene is so much more interesting with George Clooney in it.  (come to think of it, most scenes are more interesting with George Clooney in them).   I have no idea where this is all coming from; it’s kind of like a coloring book mind dump when I sit down to draw these random attitudes.

Letting Go

Someone that I know is feeling badly lately. She’s working to clear clutter in her life, starting with her clothes closet. Pretty dresses, hot shoes, and really great worn-out jeans can be a real drag when they no longer fit. And it’s not just a matter of not fitting the body but when things no longer fit our life, they can be extra hard to let go. The temptation to cling to hopes and dreams not fulfilled, is powerful yet only by letting go can we make room for new hopes and new dreams. I work to console her, pointing out how delighted someone will be to receive her cast-offs. She, however is not consoled.

Shift Happens

Like this guy, we sometimes get stuck in a rut, grass growing beneath our feet as we wait for the bus that keeps coming but our darkness is so pervasive that we don’t even see as it passes by.  And the sad part is that joy is right there, at our fingertips, within our grasp.  A simple “shift in awareness” will change hopelessness to happiness, every time. Guaranteed.

We Are Not Alone

I am one of those people convinced that we are not alone.  That there are forces, beings, spirits, whatever word you want to use; that come to our aid just as we need it, as well as wreak a bit of havoc here and there is, for me an absolute certainty.  I call on them, from time to time, like when my glasses are nowhere to be found or when I get the blues, they always come around to remind me how abundantly colorful the universe really is.
