George Clooney

"original cartoon", artist unknown
I spotted this black & white cartoon cut-out stuffed in an old box of crap I keep around and never do anything with.  I scanned it into my computer then started drawing on top of it while teaching myself how to draw with a Wacom Tablet.    While experimenting I tried to cover up the suited man but soon learned that the scene was much more interesting with the suited man there.  I started calling him George Clooney, mostly because it’s widely acknowledged that most scenes are more interesting when George Clooney is there.

I began to wonder how much more I can get out of this old cartoon without becoming bored (we “art sluts” bore easily).   Hmmm..., I thought, how many times can I use this and still remain interested?  I suppose some professor at RISD probably uses this as an official technique but I didn’t go to art school so I’m just kind of winging it here.

I’m calling this “George Clooney, man on the street”… A Series.  Enjoy it for as long as it lasts, because as we all know, George Clooney never stays with the same woman for long.

p.s.  if you are the guy who created the original cartoon, please don’t be pissed off at me for not giving you credit, I tried to find out who you were but failed.  Drop me a line and I’ll include your name in all past, present and future George Clooney portrayals.

“Art slut”… I couldn't decide what to do so I just decided to do it all
